BRABUS 800 HP MERCEDES G-WAGON

The company began with Bodo Buchmann wanting to customize his cars. Finally discover most existing customizers cannot grasp his vision or meet his requirements.

Lastly, he decided to start his own brand. Furthermore he decide to start his own brand, Brabus GmbH was originally registered in 1977 in West Germany with Buchmann’s friend Klaus Brackman, because German law required a company must be established with at least two people.

Moreover, the company name was derived from the first three characters of the founders’ surnames (Brackman, Buchmann). In addition, Brackman don’t show interests in modifying vehicles or running a business and he sold his company shares to Buchmann for 100 euros.

Finally, Brabus start building its third factory in Bottrop.

BRABUS OPERATIONS

Brabus’s primary focus is to achieve maximum car performance, as a result to increase of horsepower and movement.

Moreover, customers can either buy cars from Brabus, Besides send in their car to be customized and/or overhauled.

Customers ordering a car directly involves Brabus purchasing a particular model from Mercedes and then modifying it according to the customer’s requests.

Brabus is known for providing expensive tuning. Brabus also offers cosmetic modifications including low profile spoilers, bodykits, carbon fiber splitters, and multi-piece alloy wheels.

Other upgrades include racing LSDs, open racing exhaust systems, twelve-piston disc brakes, and engine remapping. Customers can also have complete engine overhauls, or have new crate engines from AMG modified for them. Brabus engines range from small 200 horsepower (150 kW) K4 blocks for SLK roadsters and CLK-Class .

On the other hand  to the 900 horsepower (670 kW) twin-turbo blocks for the S-Class. The company also provides improvements to the interior from custom upholstery, gauges, shift knobs, pedals, and trim to various electronics such as wider LCD screens for the Maybach.

Introduction

Starting with the most obvious, the widebody kit muscles up those front and rear fenders to widen the vehicle by 10 centimeters, and make room for massive 23-inch wheels. Alternatively, customers can opt for a smaller set (20 to 22 inches).

For example those willing to go all out will surely opt for the largest alloys available. Up front, generously sized intakes feed the uprate engine and brakes with the need air. Most importantly while the carbon fiber dual power bulge on the hood lets everyone know this isn’t an “ordinary” G63.

Moving at the back, the custom skid plate and the spare wheel cover finish in pure carbon fiber. Certainly lend the legendary Mercedes off-roader a sportier vibe further enhance by the roof-mount wing.

Speaking of the roof, it has gain two LED modules up front to supplement the standard headlights.

Rounding off the exterior tweaks are the auxiliary LED lights mount within the fender flares to light up the side of the vehicle once you open a door.

ENGINE

The more aggressive appearance has a correspondent underneath. Above all the hood where the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 is massage to extract an additional 212 horsepower and 111 pound-feet (150 Newton-meters) of torque. For example the Brabus 800 Widestar offers an impressive 789 hp and 737 lb-ft . (1,000 Nm), which is enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) run in 4.1 seconds.

The tuner mentions it had to electronically limit the vehicle’s top speed to 149 mph (240 kph) as a result of the SUV’s hefty weight. We’d be curious to see how fast it really is without the limiter, but it’s probably a bit risky to do it. A side from fiddling with the engine and upgrading the body. In other words Brabus also spent some time inside the G63 to spice up the cabin. For example in Geneva showcar will have a full Cuoio leather interior with diamond quilting and black accents. However to mention a glitzy headliner wrapped in Alcantara inspired by Rolls-Royce’s Starlight option.

We’ll see the 800 Widestar starting tomorrow in Geneva where Brabus will also showcase an amped-up Maybach S650 and a custom electric Smart For Two.
